The threat goes away

Pretty soon, the Trump cult will begin to disperse and maybe even vote significantly Democratic in 2022, and more emphatically in 2024; that is, if electoral democracy survives. If these people could be sucked into a cult so easily, then they can be sucked out of it again fairly easily. Color me naive. After all, look what they did to Biden's tag team partner, Obama. But consider…

When Trump called the Michigan GOP legislators to the White House recently, none of them caved to what the president was asking. In fact, they used the opportunity to ask Trump for more help with anti-covid material. Georgia election officials have also refused to cave in to what Trump wanted them to do. Next up is Pennsylvania, the GOP legislators, which Trump has summoned to the White House, just as he did the Michigan legislators. If the result is the same as it was with the other two states, then the die might be cast. We could finally see Republican Senators start to bail.
