The real opportunity for VP-elect Harris
Tom Friedman, in the 12/15/20 New York Times, wrote about how president Biden should give vice president Harris an opportunity to undertake a project to wire up rural america for broadband. This would do more than the obvious and laudable goal of getting broadband into communities where it is sorely needed. It would also put her and the new administration in front of a constituency that has all but left the Democratic Party.

But if she is the presumptive Democratic nominee in 2024, such a project would serve her well.
